just got back from church.
tdy's service was enlightening.
actually i think every mass is supp to be so
just tht i hardly pay attention during service.
but anyway.
went late for mass today.
dragged myself there cos i was slping and cldnt bear to wake up.
hmmm the shame -frwns

ah wells thts not e pnt.
so i went in and sat down.
the father started lecturing us.
at first i was just about to tune out
( yes whtever i knw im really bad alright )
when suddenly he said smth about how we hear but do not listen.

first he started off by saying people whisper because it gives them a personal touch.
because when you whisper, the other party has to lean in closer and strain to hear you
hence you've got tht person attention and ts a feeling of intimacy.
and i quote the priest
" that's why young lovers like to whisper to each other.
' i love you hehehe' "
hahaha i was so amused when he giggled!
caught my attention he did.

then he told us this short story.

There was a radio advertisment for a job stating the job requirements and time and date of the interview. On that day itself, the manager walked into the waiting room and saw about 80 young applicants all hoping to get the job. He tells them " Please take out your resumes. The interview will proceed shortly". He then goes into his office and leaves the door slightly ajar.

On hearing this, all the applicants rush to take their resumes out and immediately start comparing. +human nature is it not?+ Oh yes, they start saying how inferior they are and moan about their lack of stuff as compared to others. They are so busy comparing and being so self-absorbed they notice there is a tapping noise coming from the manager's office, but nobody bothers about it, assuming that it is just a noise.Suddenly, one young woman gets up and walks straight into his office and closes the door.

After five mins, the manager comes out and tells everyone " Thank you all for coming but the job goes to this young lady here." On hearing this, everyone bursts out in exclamtions. After all, why were they denied the interview?

The manager then looks at them and said, " One of the job requirements was that you have to understand Morse code.Did you all not hear the tapping sounds? When i was tapping, I was actually sending you all a message in Morse code. The message was that the job would go to the first person who interpreted the message, walked straight into my office and closed the door."

I found this story pretty cool. and it made sense and fit wht e father said. The thing is, those people heard the tapping noises but they didn't listen to it. and ultimately, thts wht cost them.
mmm. jst a story to share. then father went on to say how in life, we always only think about our own pains and we rattle them all of to God, yet when he wants to speak to us, we don't listen to him. made me feel kinda ashamed cos its smth im guilty of doing. yesyes, this mass has inspired me to listen more and not be so self absorbed.i shall try hard :)

oh wells.off to dinner now!
last night was pure amusement -winks at wanj

fireworks were really really beautiful.
i wonder if wishing on fireworks has the same effect as wishing on stars?
because i sure wished hard yesterday..

wanj and vince. thanks for a memorable night. love* :)
